关于此套币: One of America's legendary and most revered athletes, Jesse Owens captured 4 gold medals in track, including the 100, at the 1936 Berlin Olympics. At the official bon voyage party, Adolf Hitler shook hands with Owens and congratulated him for his successes, and later mailed him a gift. Upon his return to the States, however, FDR declined to invite him, or any of the black members of the team, to the White House for the traditional post-Olympic honors. Owens remained embittered by that rebuff for the rest of his life.
