purchased raw from New Zealand dealer, listing for "USA MERCURY DIME COIN 1926S KM 140 VERY FINE". When asked how a NZ dealer ended up acquiring such coin: "We acquire these coins from old time NZ collector collections, the American Fleet came to New Zealand several times during the early 1900's through to late 1920's and of course we had a lot of American soldiers in New Zealand during WWI and so quite a bit of American currency got into New Zealand during those times. We tour the countryside , placing advertisements in newspapers and it is surprising what comes out of the woodwork from time to time."
purchased raw. eBay listing: “1926s Dime in great condition just dirty” (BIN $100) Q: Can you tell me where you acquired this mercury dime A: I got it from change when I lived in New York about 30 or so years ago! Q: Do you remember where in NY you got the dime in change? A: I believe it was Brooklyn when I was working as a roofer on a hospital there. There was a lot of construction going on at the time. The deli's in the area where super busy with all the workers!
