1878 CC Mintage 2,212,000 GSA 60,993 Observations: Strike strong and bold. Luster generally bright and satin to frosty. First year and all with the reverse 78. Prooflike - some deep mirrors with cameo but MS65 and up less so and difficult.
1879 CC Mintage 756,000 GSA 4,123 Observations: Strike average with high point weakness. Luster varies from subdued to adequate to bright. Therefore the look varies. Difficult MS65 and up. Variety CC/CC. Prooflike - more PL and die polish than DMPL but with cameo. DMPL tough.
1881 CC Mintage 296,000 GSA 147,485 Observations: Strike consistently strong and bold. Luster also usually bright, intense and frosty. An attractive date and seen thru high grades. Prooflike - deep mirrors with good cameo.
1883 CC Mintage 1,204,000 GSA 755,518 Observations: Strike average to strong with some weakness over ear. Luster consistently bright, intense and frosty. The typical nice CC look and seen thru high grades. Prooflike - very deep mirrors with good cameo can be found.
1889 CC Mintage 350,000 GSA 1 Observations: Strike strong and bold. Luster varies but is muted compared to earlier CC's. The rarest of the CC Morgan's. Less eye appealing than in earlier 80's. Prooflike - A high percentage of pop. are PL. Generally good mirrors but less cameo than earlier CC's.
1891 CC Mintage 1,618,000 GSA 5,687. Observations: Strike is strong to average but mostly full with some general weakness seen. Luster mostly bright and frosty. Most common in higher MS of the 1890's CC. Prooflike - uncommon, average mirrors and less cameo.

1892 CC Mintage 1,352,000 GSA 1 Observations: Strike varies average to strong with some high point weakness. Luster bright to adequate but frosty. Scarcity similar to 1890 CC in higher MS. Prooflike - very uncommon but if found can have good mirrors and cameo.
1893 CC Mintage 677,000 GSA 1. Observations: Strike has extreme variance from strong to average to flat to full pancake. Luster seems to vary from bright and frosty to a white sheen look. The overall quality is down. A good strike can be found. Scarcest of the 1890's CC. Prooflike - scarce and mostly a flat strike with average mirrors and cameo.
