A beautiful example of the date. Sumptuous toning is brought to life when the vivid luster is caught at the right angles in a light. Rich rose and gold hues dominate with pleasing accents of baby blue and sea green clinging to the peripheries. The eye appeal is excellent, the strike is bold and essentially complete, and any marks are tiny, hidden and do not affect the visual allure of this CHOICE example. PCGS 13, NGC 15, CAC 6. The most recent PCGS/CAC MS63 to sell in auction was the ex Simpson Collection coin that sold in the 2017 ANA auction for $2,233. That coin was attractively toned but somewhat dark. We note that in MS64, the value more than doubles, the last PCGS/CAC coin sold for $4,700. A great type coin, or representing this historic year in a complete date/mintmark set.
