- 1798 Draped Bust Silver Dollar. Small Eagle. B-1a, BB-82. Rarity-3. BB Die State III. 13 Stars on Obverse. VF-35 (PCGS). Outstanding surfaces and eye appeal with light silver surfaces that show slightly darker silver-gray that accents the devices and lettering on both sides. Hints of faint adjustment marks are found on the obverse with a strong loupe, crossing through Liberty. Later die state especially on the reverse where several thin cracks are seen as well as the usual heavy die crack splitting the second T of STATES. Splashed with a bit of golden-russet on the left and upper reverse. Bold hair detail on Liberty and just a whisper too much wear on the breast feathers to command the grade higher, but with solid appeal overall. Another single die pairing but major variety as listed in the Guide Bookas the 1798 dollar with Thirteen Stars and the Small Eagle reverse. PCGS# 6867.
