THE BOYLSTON COLLECTION, PART IV The 1851 is a lower mintage date and due to the increase in silver value, relative to gold in the economy in the early 1850s, many were likely exported and melted. Mint State coins are very scarce. This uncirculated example has pearly-silver suffused with a hint of the clearest gold on the surfaces. As expected for the assigned grade there are some minor ticks and light lines, but these have a minimal impact on the outstanding eye appeal of this piece. Ex Heritage's sale of the Donald E. Bently Collection, April 2014, lot 4399. PCGS 2, NGC 6. This coin sold for $3,558 in April 2014--hard to believe but that is nearly a decade ago! The current PCGS Price Guide value is $4,500. RARE finer, we expect this coin will see spirited competition when it crosses the block. Cert. Number 29397190 PCGS # 6266
