- One of the more curious engraving errors in the series, the 3 in the date was created with a broken punch, with a wide gap between the top curl and the lower curl. The O-101 represents the coins that were struck prior to the broken 3 being repaired; O-101a is one of the few times that a later die state is a distinct Red Book variety. Among the higher grade examples known, it ranks just below the Condition Census. This coin has a fantastic melange of dove and pewter tinged antique silver with splashes of deep coppery gold toning on both sides. The devices are generally well struck, though we note some of the typical softness seen on the obverse. The swirling cartwheel luster is bold and brilliant, giving life to the frosty surfaces and enlivening the richness of the color. The eye appeal is exceptional and a prize for any Bust half collector! Ex Stack's privately, March 1978; David Queller; Queller Family Collection, Stack's, October 2002, lot 206. PCGS 1, NGC 0. The current PCGS Price Guide value is $24,000 and with a PCGS MS62 from the Chicago Collection bringing $12,338 in our September 2021 Regency Auction and the Konstantine PCGS MS64 CAC selling for $38,775 in our September 2018 Regency Auction, we think this coin will realize around that level. Worthy of a very strong bid for sure! Good luck. Cert. Number 8526540 PCGS # 6132
