- 1847 Liberty Seated Silver Dollar. OC-1. Rarity-1. MS-61 (NGC). A sharply struck, satiny example with light silver-gray patina drifting over both sides. The vast majority of survivors from the relatively generous mintage of 140,750 pieces are worn to one degree or another, indicative of extensive commercial use. Like all silver dollar issues from the 1840s, however, the 1847 is elusive even at the lowest reaches of Mint State.
