Truly a gorgeous and high end SUPERB GEM 1895 Proof half dollar. Totally original and very eye appealing, this richly toned example ranges from deep blue and violet peripheral toning that blends with teal, golden, and peachy-rose accents that come to life when the watery underlying mirrors catch the light. The boldly struck devices have a wonderful frost. The quality and visual allure are confirmed by the lofty assigned grade and the green CAC bean. What a great looking coin with a great pedigree, and worthy of a superb Registry Set.. Only 880 Proofs were struck. PCGS 10, NGC 22, CAC 9. The most recent example sold in February 2020 for $5,040, and prior to that, we sold the Col. Green-Eric Newman-Young Dakota Collection piece, for $7,344 in October 2019.
