详细说明: 1787 Fugio Copper. Pointed Rays. Newman 12-Z, W-6830. Rarity-5. STATES UNITED, Label With Raised Rims. VF-35 (PCGS). 158.95 grains. Medal turn. Glossy medium brown but for some light surface roughness around the base of the sundial and into MIND YOUR BUSINESS. No bad problems or pre-striking flaws, little planchet chip at ring juncture near 1 o'clock, old dull nick below ONE on reverse, upper right corner of central reverse label softly struck as always seen on this variety. A strong candidate for the Condition Census, nearly as sharp as the finest known to Retz, a VF-35 in a New York City collection, from the 1997 C4 sale. Retz knew of a handful of lower grade VFs, including his own piece (which he ranked fourth). That piece was a bit less sharp than this one; it brought $5,288 in an EF Details, Graffiti PCGS holder this past November. This example should be worth more. Finding a better one than this would take years, perhaps decades, of patience.
