1864 Pattern Seated Liberty Half Dime. Judd-378, Pollock-446. Rarity-7-. Proof-67 RB (NGC). Regular issue die trial that features an obverse die with a broken D in UNITED as a prominent marker. Struck in copper with a reeded edge. This is a Superb proof example that is unequaled at either of the major grading services. Fully struck, the surfaces show a significant amount of original red and purple luster with a light overlay of bluish-brown. Exceptional quality throughout, this is the finest of the two Red and Brown examples graded by NGC.
