A very high grade survivor of this later date Barber quarter. Despite a healthy mintage of 3.72 million, this date is RARE in MS66 or finer, and this MS67 is tied for FINEST graded at PCGS. Satiny lustrous fields have a rich underlying frost that glitters below a deep earthen, clay-like colors; orange-red, violet, olive, tan, and gold surrounds the peripheries and within the devices, but leaving the central portions of the designs untoned. Sharply struck, the devices stand out wonderfully. A strong glass will identify the most minute little lines hidden under the toning, but to the naked eye, this SUPERB GEM is virtually flawless! PCGS 3, NGC 2. The last one to sell in auction brought $4,320. The other MS67, last sold in October 2014 brought nearly $8,000. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $6,500. With NONE FINER, this SUPERB GEM belongs in a very high ranking Barber Registry Set. Cert. Number 41914209 PCGS # 5659.00
