- This distinct Red Book variety is represented by just a single die pair, O-109, which happens to be the most common variety of the year. A great fact for anyone working on a set of Red Book varieties. The present coin was struck from a clashed intermediate die state, where some die cracks are noted, but the milling about the reverse is still intact. A pleasing example that shows light to moderate wear on both sides, and traces of original glossy luster that remains in the protected areas of the design type. Soft blue and dove-tan patina on both sides. Cool die cracks are seen by the date and the stars are drawn to the edge. PCGS 59, NGC 13, CAC 17. The most recent example sold in a December 2019 Online Only Auction for $1,600. The current PCGS value is listed at $1,650 and the CAC CPG value is $1,750.
