Tied for FINEST graded in the RB category, this is a marvelous Premium GEM 1867 Proof cent. Ample original orange-red color mingles with a iridescent toning over the central areas, hues of rose, lilac, and soft brown bring this high end GEM a great look. Only 625 Proofs were struck. PCGS 19, NGC 10, CAC 6. NONE ARE FINER in the designation. The last CAC-approved example sold back in July 2014! Since then we sold an example for $3,643 in our June 2019 Regency Auction 33 which was NOT CAC. The current Collectors Universe value is listed at $4,250 and unpriced in the CAC CPG.
