详细说明: THE BOYLSTON COLLECTION, PART IV This is a significant early Seated Liberty half dollar Proof rarity. Like many of these pre-1858 Proofs, mintage figures are not always known, but what is known is that experts agree just about 20 examples are known in all grades. This sparkling near-GEM is sensational in every respect! A deeply mirrored reflection in the fields are quite brilliant and flashy when viewed in a light. They show some subtle light lines when rotated in a light, but these are normal for the assigned grade and have virtually zero impact on the outstanding visual allure. The devices stand out boldly on both sides, with a moderate Cameo contrast, especially bold for this date. Very subtle hints of color cling to the peripheries on both sides. The eye appeal is exceptional in every way. A small but unknown number of Proofs were struck. PCGS 3, NGC 1, CAC 4. The most recent example to sell was an NGC-graded/CAC approved coin that brought $22,200 in November 2022; prior to that, the former Gardner coin sold for $22,800 in 2018. The current CAC CPG value is $33,100 and the PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $45,000. PCGS has not graded any CAMEOs finer! This near-GEM is worthy of a very strong bid indeed. Good luck! Cert.
