- An exquisite, essentially SUPERB example of the first "modern" Proof Lincoln cent. Struck in two types in 1936, the first having a satiny lustrous finish, as here. Ranking near the top of the pop, there is just a single PR67 RD graded finer at PCGS and there are none graded 66+ RD at NGC. Clearly this beautiful coin is one of the best available! Absolutely original, totally lustrous satiny surfaces show off a bold RED coloration that is rich and vibrant. The devices are sharply impressed by an exacting blow from the dies. A delicate rose-gold overtone gives this stunning coin a fantastic visual allure. There are no serious flecks or marks of any kind that have any impact on the eye appeal. PCGS 43, NGC 8, CAC 13. There are seven graded 66+ RD with just a single PR67 RD graded higher. The most recent example in 66+ RD was sold in our September 2019 Regency Auction, which realized a record price of $13,513. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $13,500. This stunning beauty is bound for the FINEST of sets. Good luck! Cert. Number 38303774 PCGS # 3332.00
