- THE B.S.T. COLLECTION Ultra high end and among the 10 highest graded at PCGS. This is the final Seated Liberty half dollar to have a mintage in the seven figures. After the Bland Allison Act took effect, the mintage of "subsidiary" silver coins dropped to the four or five figure levels, while millions of silver dollars were churned out at every mint. The present coin has an amazing look with a premium technical quality. Thick satiny mint frost is brilliant and lightly toned in the centers with a pearly silver accent; the peripheries are framed by a rich azure and crimson-gold. The surfaces are smooth, free of distracting marks, and the microscopic traces of contact that account for the assigned grade are so minute as to be easily ignored. The strike is sharp and frosty; the eye appeal incredible. PCGS 11, NGC 7 CAC 3. This is the SOLE MS65+ graded by either service. Just nine are graded higher. The current PCGS Price Guide value is $5,500. This coin was purchased by our consignor from Legend Numismatics back in 2008.
