Tompkins Die Stage 7/4, Rea et al. Die State b (late). Unlike the coin in the preceding lot, this piece represents the ultimate state of Rea et al. Die State b, with an additional obverse crack from the border after star 13 into the bust, and the reverse shattered by two prominent cracks which come close to joining at the shield.<p><strong>Steve M. Tompkins Commentary:</strong> My original set piece, and a boldly and originally toned coin to boot. I can't believe it has been 27 years since I purchased it.
