详细说明: 1865 Pattern Nickel Three-Cent Piece. Judd-410, Pollock-481. Rarity-6-. Nickel. Plain Edge. Proof-66 (PCGS). Secure Holder. The obverse design is essentially the same design as the regular issue for the series, but with the date placed a trifle closer to Liberty's bust. For the reverse the design again is quite close to that adopted in 1865 for the three-cent nickel series, but the ribbons at the base of the wreath are longer and touching to the dentils. After review of these features, the date was slightly lowered and the ribbon ends cropped and placed above the dentils for the regular issue strikings. Excellent surfaces with reflective mirror fields accented by traces of teal and gold toning, while the devices are frosty and show a fair amount of contrast. This highly appealing pattern, being ever so close to the adopted design, would make a great addition to a specialized collection of Proof nickel three-cent pieces, even if you do not otherwise collect patterns.
