1804 S-266c R2. PCGS graded EF-40.Glossy medium steel and light chocolate brown. No roughness or verdigris, only small contact marks scattered over both sides. The notable marks are a very light rim bruise just left of the date, a speck of dark crud on the rim even with the lower part of the neck, and a tiny scratch between the A & second T in STATES. Peeps of mint frost can be found in protected areas on the reverse. It appears this cent has never been brushed and there are traces of shallow dirt in protected areas around the wreath. Perhaps a proper bath would uncover more of the natural luster and enhance the eye appeal of this cent. LDS, Breen state IV, with strong cud breaks at RTY and MERI. Graded VF35 net VF30 by Noyes and tied for CC#13, his photo #23136. Not seen by Bland. Our grade is VF25+. An attractive higher grade example of this date. The attribution and Nancy and Bryan Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 1; 7 finer: 2 in 45, 1 in 50, 1 in 53, 2 in 55, 1 in 63.(PCGS # 36422) Value $18,000 - UP
