详细说明: Ex Fairmont Collection, as noted on the insert. We have sold three other examples of this date in previous auctions, with this one being the second finest among the 83-CC half eagles sold by LRCA. Only 12,958 were struck for circulation, and once issued, they seem to have remained in commercial channels. High end quality AU58 or finer examples are VERY RARE indeed! At first glance this coin does look better than AU58. Exceedingly clean and smooth surfaces don't crack when using a strong glass. Ticks are zero problem here. There is a very decent glowing type luster. Both sides are an even gold color. There are no spots or discolorations. Miss Liberty and the details are very well struck and show only slight even wear. The eye appeal is great! PCGS 23, NGC 20, CAC 11. CAC has beaned only 6 coins higher. The last PCGS CAC piece to sell in auction brought $14,400 in March 2023. The current Collectors Universe value is $16,000. We can't stress enough how nice and rare this coin is. If you're a CC collector this coin will be a star in your set! Cert.
