Both sides are draped in antique silver iridescence with a blush or two of sandy-russet tinting. Near the pinnacle of perfection for the type and issue, and worthy of a strong bid commensurate with its condition rarity. Of the 19,922 Proof half dollars struck in 1941, only 14,822 are believed to have been sold to contemporary collectors (per Roger W. Burdette, 2016). The remaining 5,100 were destroyed, either for assay purposes, before delivery to the Cashier, or after being returned as unsold.
