FROM THE SEATTLE COLLECTION A tough Low R-7 three cent nickel die trial, struck in aluminum with the regular issue Proof dies. Very RARE, these were struck as sets to show, according to the uspatterns.com web site "how easily aluminum coined." Both sides are sharply struck up with boldly defined features. The deeply mirrored fields show off a vivid mirrored reflection. Essentially GEM quality, the quality is great. PCGS 2, NGC 1, CAC 3. The other PCGS/CAC example to sell brought $4,600 in the 2011 FUN auction and the current Collectors Universe value is $4,500.
