Only 263,000 were struck for circulation, and this is a very rare date in CHOICE or finer grades. A PCGS/CAC MS62 is a great coin for the collector! Rich, totally original orange-gold patina with soft olive accents is brought out by a satiny mint sheen in the recesses of the incuse design elements. The surfaces are generally clean for the grade, with no serious hits of any kind; even the dreaded right reverse field is free of distracting contact. PCGS 318, NGC 182, CAC 29. The last CAC-approved example sold nearly three years ago! The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $6,750. PCGS MS62+ CAC examples have sold for as much as $7,800 and any CAC MS63 is going to cost around $15,000.
