- COOL TAB TONING! This piece must have been sitting in it's cardboard holder of issue for decades to tone in such dramatic fashion! INTENSE shades of deep wine, eggplant, brick red and fiery orange color progress across immaculate fields until they reach the centers where all the colors collide where the tab would have been on the cardboard holder. The reverse is less dramatic with lighter shades of the same colors. With a high magnification loupe one can see a teensy tick mark on the wagon . Razor sharp details.
One of the prettiest of the silver commemorative designs which was prepared by James Earle Fraser and his wife Laura Garden Fraser. Struck from 1926-1939 and used to commemorate the Oregon Trail, in memory of pioneers who made the 2,000-mile trek.
PCGS 157, NGC 154, CAC 75. The most recent sale of a CAC stickered piece was back in May 2022 for $1,680. Listed in the PCGS Price Guide for $775. Color like this is hard to put a price on, as beauty is in the eye of the beholder. We expect a flurry of interest when this coin crosses the auction block.
