- A beautifully lustrous and well struck example of this TOP 50 VAM variety. The doubling is very subtle but can be seen at the E in WE. This is the FINEST example that PCGS has graded for the variety. Untoned, regardless of its status for variety specialists, this coin has a great look for the grade for ANY 1927 dollar! PCGS 380, NGC 124, CAC 58. For the date there are 15 graded MS65+, and only 16 graded MS66 are finer. For the VAM-2, this is the SOLE MS65+ graded, and none are finer. The most recent PCGS MS65+ CAC 1927 dollar sold in a February 2017 auction for $7,050. The CU value for a regular 1927 is $7,500 and is unpriced in 65+ for the VAM 2 designation.
