详细说明: 1798 Draped Bust Silver Dollar. Small Eagle. BB-81, B-2. Rarity-3. 15 Stars on Obverse. VF-30 (NGC). Pleasing mid grade quality for this scarce design type of the 1798-dated silver dollar issue. The strike is generally well centered and, while the lower left reverse border is devoid of denticulation, the borders are distinct to bold elsewhere. All major design elements are clear, the more recessed areas of Liberty's portrait and the eagle retaining considerable sharpness of detail. Warmly toned in dove gray with subtle blue-gray and pale pink undertones, the surfaces are uncommonly smooth in hand for an early silver dollar that saw moderate commercial use. BB-81 is a significant die marriage as it is the only 1798 silver dollar with 15 obverse stars. Furthermore, it is paired with the old style reverse with the Small Eagle motif.
