1869 Pattern Liberty Seated Half Dime. Judd-693, Pollock-772. Rarity-7+. Aluminum. Reeded Edge. Proof-64 Cameo (PCGS). Regular dies trial striking of the 1869 Liberty Seated half dime. This is the only example seen by PCGS which has their Cameo or Deep Cameo contrast. Furthermore, the 1 is repunched high with what appears to be the base serif about midway up the post to the left, a small curling line above the 8 in the rocky base is noted but this may be a raised lintmark on the hub. Glorious bright white with boldly mirrored fields and the devices all snow-white with mint frost. Problem-free and attractive for this rare and seldom seen Pattern issue.
