- 1787 New Jersey Copper. Maris 38-c, W-5190. Rarity-3. Pony Head. VF-20 (PCGS). 167.5 grains. Rich chocolate brown with hard, glossy surfaces. A little crudely made on the reverse, with the common peripheral circumferential striation seen on these (because of some wrinkle in the planchet cutting process) and a little curved clip above the first U of UNUM. The obverse is trivially aligned left, but both sides are well defined for the grade. A light abrasion on the horsehead is truly trivial and will be invisible to most.
