Borderline Gem James II Crown GREAT BRITAIN. Crown, 1687 Year TERTIO. London Mint. James II. NGC MS-64+. S-3407; Dav-3779; KM-463. On the absolute cusp of Gem status, this mostly argent crown offers blazing eye appeal that is very seldom encountered on an issue from this period. The strike, save for some minor weakness above the forehead of the king, is rather sharp, with minty fresh brilliance emanating as strongly as the day on which it was struck.
