Amongst the finest graded examples of this low mintage Proof Barber half dollar. Vivid and unusually beautiful toning on both sides, particularly on the reverse. Shades of azure, crimson, orange, golden and rich green tones are enhanced by the flash and reflection of the SUPERB quality mirrors. Sharply struck devices stand out in full 3D effect. The eye appeal is really cool and unique. Only 627 Proofs were struck. PCGS 15, NGC 13, CAC 9. The last PCGS/CAC example sold in the 2016 FUN auction, realizing $5,523. Prior to that, this one sold for $8,519 in July 2014. The current CAC CPG value is listed at $5,940 and the Collectors Universe value is $4,750. There are only three examples graded finer at PCGS.
