THE J B N SET Ex Charles Schultz Collection, as noted on the insert. Tied for SECOND FINEST GRADED at PCGS, this is a STUNNING, truly SUPERB example of a 33-S. The technical quality and eye appeal of this coin are off the charts! A sensationally brilliant luster glimmers boldly on both sides. A rich satiny sheen glows throughout the fields, accenting boldly the soft blush of the clearest golden tone that is softly dusted on both sides. The strike is crisp, with the devices showing razor sharp definition on both sides, rendered from an exacting blow from the dies. As expected for a PCGS MS67 CAC example, the surfaces are virtually FLAWLESS, devoid of all but a microscopic tick or two, visible only with the aid of a strong glass. This is an incredible specimen that really is a great way to start off this AMAZING late set of Walkers! Coinage production fell dramatically following the stock market crash of 1929. Indeed, no half dollars were minted in 1930, 1931, and 1932 at any of the mints. In 1933, production resumed at the San Francisco mint only, with a total output of 1,786,000 struck. Ex Charles Schlutz and GBW Collections. PCGS 15, NGC 10, CAC 10. Two examples sold in auction in 2021 and are the most recent to sell. The first was the Simpson coin sold in April for $34,800 and the other was a richly toned (though it had a serious mark in the field above IN of IN GOD WE TRUST) that brought a record $66,000. This coin is cleaner and more attractive than those. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $35,000. There are three in MS67+ graded higher at PCGS, none of which have sold in auction. This extremely high end example will certainly excite any collector of top quality Walkers, and the bidding war that will break out will be as intense as the lustrous glow in the fields.
