Another very scarce, low mintage $3. Only 1,500 were struck. Rich, prooflike reflective surfaces shine against exceptionally sharp devices. Sleek gold surfaces show nice, almost cameo-like contrast. A few microscopic lines and ticks are noted under inspection with a strong glass. PCGS 22, NGC 19. The last one to sell brought $10,575 in a December 2013 auction sale. More recently an NGC MS63 sold for $14,100 in September 2016. In MS64 the Collectors’ Universe value is listed at $14,000. A pleasing coin that will fit in nicely to any set of $3 gold. Good luck!
