GOLD COAST. 1/2 Ackey, 1818. PCGS MS-63 Gold Shield. KM-8. From a mintage of only 2,170 pieces. Needle sharp strike with crisp design features, block letters and a wire rim. Darkly toned on the obverse with iridescent hues that pop out when tiled in the light over hard flashy surfaces somewhat subdued from the build up of grime over the years. While the reverse displays a smokey russet grey as a base tone with beautiful multi-color iridescence around the entire circumference. A lovely example with good eye appeal. Estimate: $700 - $1,000.
