Undated (1926-1929) United States Assay Commission Medal. Obverse Die Trial. By John R. Sinnock. JK AC-70 to 73, for obverse type. Bronze. MS-64 (NGC). 51 mm. Despite the NGC attribution of 1926 JK AC-70, this obverse die was used for all four Assay Commission medal issues from 1926 through 1929. Handsome olive-brown patina with a pleasingly smooth obverse, a few inoffensive carbon flecks within the recesses of the incuse design elements on the reverse.
