A magnificently toned and wholly original SUPERB GEM example! Struck during the beginning of the Civil War this is a very high grade survivor from the mintage of 497,000. Ultra rich satiny luster radiates below soft iridescent pastel toning, showing off salmon and slate patina that adorns both obverse and reverse. As you twirl this beauty in a light, violet and rose-gold hues come out. The devices are exceptionally sharp, struck from unclashed dies; the only weakness is seen at the quiver of arrows. The surfaces are unmarred by any marks, lines, or ticks of any kind. Under strong magnification, you will find mint made die roller lines. The eye appeal is exceptional. PCGS 38, NGC 29, CAC 18. The current CAC CPG and Collectors Universe value is listed at $5,000 and an NGC-graded example without CAC approval sold in April 2019 for $15,600 and a PCGS MS67 CAC sold in March 2020 for $18,000. Take a good look at this one and figure your bids; the odds are, this coin will bring above the published levels. Good luck! Cert. Number 179546-001 PCGS # 3679.00
