1787 Fugio Cent. Pointed Rays. W-6830, Newman 12-Z. URS-5. STATES UNITED, Raised Rims on Center Label. VF-30 (PCGS). The PCGS insert misattributes this coin as an example of the STATES UNITED, 4 Cinquefoils <em>Guide Book </em>variety. An example of the much scarcer Raised Rims on Label variety, this piece exhibits glossy golden-brown surfaces and a more-or-less bold strike. The central reverse is a bit softly defined in isolated areas, but not the extent to one cannot attribute the variety. Planchet flaws at the lower-reverse and lower-right obverse borders are as struck, and there are no individually mentionable abrasions.
