详细说明: 1873-CC Liberty Seated Half Dollar. No Arrows. WB-101, Die Pair WB-2. Rarity-5. Repunched 1. MS-61 (NGC). Golden-lilac toning dominates the obverse, while the reverse exhibits lighter silvery-gray color. A well struck piece that exhibits clean surfaces and minimal surface marks. For identification there is a tiny planchet flaw on Liberty's right thigh and a trace of roughness on the upper obverse (as made) that requires a strong glass to discover. Mint State examples of this issue are quite rare, as noted below in the Census data. Collectors must pick from such a limited group with offerings infrequent and demand growing. The recorded mintage of 122,500 pieces suffered not only the usual high attrition rates, but many were melted as the new standard was adopted in early 1873, when the Arrows were added at the date. This is a coin that offers impressive quality and good visual appeal for the specialist and stands tall as one of the finer examples known of this challenging issue.
