FROM THE YOUNG-DAKOTA COLLECTION Ex Col. Green and Eric Newman Collections. What a gorgeous SUPERB GEM 1895 Proof half dollar. Totally original and very eye appealing, this richly toned example ranges from golden-brown peripheral toning that blends with blue, lilac, and golden accents. The boldly struck devices have a wonderful frost. The quality and visual allure are confirmed by the lofty assigned grade and the green CAC bean. What a great looking coin with a great pedigree, and worthy of another superb collection. Only 880 Proofs were struck. PCGS 10, NGC 23, CAC 12. Prior to an example selling in an April 2019 internet only auction, the last one to sell in a major auction brought $7,638 in November 2013--essentially six years ago! The current PCGS value is $7,750 and keep in mind that only three are graded higher, any of which is worth into the five figures. This is a great coin and will see fierce bidding. Cert.
