FROM THE EUEL DURWOOD JONES COLLECTION Tied for FINEST graded 1910 half eagle graded at either service. In fact, NGC has graded only three this high and PCGS has graded nothing finer than an MS65+. NGC has never graded anything finer, and as such, this is a prime candidate for anyone demanding the highest graded examples for their Registry Sets. As a TYPE, the Indian Head $5 is VERY RARE in this high a grade, just 18 have been graded MS66 at NGC across the entire series, with just two 1910-Ds graded MS67 finer. A razor sharp strike imparted full, crisp definition to all the feather details on both sides. A warm honey-gold hue overall melds with tangerine and wheat gold accents. A bold radiant luster glows vibrantly on both sides, enhancing a bold, visual allure. The surfaces are quite clean, with only the most minor trace of trivial wispy lines in the dreaded right reverse field. Otherwise the surfaces are sensational. The eye appeal is great! PCGS 0, NGC 3. The most recent example sold in July 2009! That was forever ago! Collectors Universe does not list a value in this high a grade, but NGC estimates the value at $37,500. We expect very strong bidding when this GEM crosses the block. Good luck. Cert. Number 1827010001 PCGS # 8517
