- 1860-C Liberty Head Half Eagle. Winter-2. Repunched Date. AU-58 (PCGS). This impressive, high grade 1860-C half eagle is attractively toned in even orange-gold patina. Both sides display bold definition for the issue. The penultimate Charlotte Mint half eagle, the 1860-C was produced to the extent of just 14,813 pieces. Survivors are rare in all grades, with most at the VF or EF level, and many impaired or offering limited eye appeal. This well preserved and visually appealing near-Mint example is sure to find its way into a high quality set. A real treat that will require a premium bid.
