1863 Pattern Two-Cent Piece. Judd-312, Pollock-377. Rarity-4. Bronze. Plain Edge. Proof-65 BN (NGC). Obv: similar to the design adopted&nbsp;for general circulation in&nbsp;1864, but with GOD OUR TRUST on the ribbon; the motto became IN GOD WE TRUST and appears that way in the regular-issue design type of&nbsp;1864 to 1873. Rev: closed wreath of wheat stalks, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA around, 2 / CENTS within, CENTS broadly curved.&nbsp;Deep golden-brown with bold chestnut highlights throughout. Struck in late 1863 according to an entry in George Eckfeldt's journal, as noted at <em>uspatterns.com.</em> Choice for the grade.
