详细说明: This is a very high end, totally original, wonderful GEM of this early Morgan dollar Proof issue. The eye appeal is truly unique and visually alluring. Rich, deep, watery mirrored fields are smooth and beaming with a wonderful flash. The surfaces are generally clean and clear of any distracting marks, lines, or stains of any kind. The totally original patina is a warm blend of olive-russet, pewter, champagne-gold, salmon-pink, and coppery amber-orange that gently caresses both sides of this GEM! The design elements are sharply impressed on both sides, adding to the outstanding visual allure. Experts have contested the number of Proof examples of this variety struck, with the estimate being between 200 and 300. Today, we can tell that the number of survivors is much lower, many were likely unsold at the mint and melted, and others lost to ravages of time. PCGS 6, NGC 14, CAC 3. The last PCGS/CAC coin to sell in auction was in our December 2014 Regency Auction where an example realized $19,975.
