详细说明: A truly magnificent 1846 half! Tied for SECOND HIGHEST graded at PCGS, this impressive borderline GEM stands out ahead of the vast majority of survivors! The eye appeal is oh so close to what is GEM today, and no doubt this would have been cataloged as a GEM back before third party grading. Extremely RARE so fine! Glowing, satiny luster radiates throughout the obverse fields that takes on some flashy, semi-reflective brilliance when rotated in a light. The reverse is more frosted in texture, but has a wealth of luster. The devices stand out with a razor sharp definition. Both sides are evenly toned in iridescent lilac-slate and pale rose gold hues. Devoid of any serious contact; the technical quality stands up to the most intense scrutiny with a strong glass. The reverse shows two major die cracks which add much character to the coin. PCGS 7, NGC 2, CAC 5. It is our opinion that a coin like this is totally underrated and undervalued! The last coin sold back in June 2017 for $4,700 and the last MS65 sold in June 2006!
