This is the SINGLE FINEST 1875 Proof Indian Head cent in the Red Brown category, and it stands alone as the only PR67 example of this date in any category at PCGS. Truly remarkable, this is a sensational high grade SUPERB GEM. Vivid, blazing red mirrored fields have a bold depth and clarity. The mirrors are exceptionally smooth, and clean, free of any distracting marks, flecks or any other kind of mark. The details are razor sharp in definition and the eye appeal is exceptionally high end and wonderful. Only 700 Proofs were reported struck. PCGS 1, NGC 0. We sold this coin for $9,988 in March 2020, and it more recently sold for $7,800 in August 2021. The current Collectors Universe value is listed at $10,000.
