A conservatively graded Proof 1872 nickel, a great type coin and one that is highly collectible, even though they have not been the hottest series in recent years (we like them a lot!). This one is housed in an old NGC fatty holder and is very high end, a real GEM or better coin. Struck from a later state of the dies, the finish is slightly more lustrous than reflective, though there is a bold flash to the nickel surfaces that come out in a light. PCGS 142, NGC 105, CAC GOLD 2. Only 950 Proofs were struck. This coin will see very strong bidding as it has a lot going for it: old generation holder, bold eye appeal, and Gold CAC bean.
