WOW! The 27-S Buffalo nickel is a major condition rarity and this is one of the TOP TEN examples graded by PCGS, with just a single MS66 graded finer. The presently offered example is a beautifully toned GEM! The colors really sing on this 27-S! The strong steely, semi-reflective, watery luster shines in the light. The color is quite pretty with a clear gold and icy-lilac/periwinkle in the center. A similar toning on the reverse, but the central icy-tone is deeper and shows hints of azure to compliment the periwinkle/lilac tone. The bold luster and radiating brilliance brings the color to life. The strike is bold for the date and we see no distracting ticks or defects, even using a strong glass. The eye appeal is very pleasing! PCGS 9, NGC 2. The last non-CAC PCGS MS65+ was the Angel Dees Collection coin we sold back in December 2016 for $24,675. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $27,500. The sole finest MS66 sold a decade ago for $86,250. We expect this marvelous GEM to sell for a very strong bid when the hammer falls. Good luck. Cert. Number 46726395 PCGS # 3962
