- “1783” (Circa 1860) Washington Draped Bust Copper. Reissue by W.S. Taylor. No Button. Musante GW-107, Baker-3, Breen-1193, Vlack 17-L. Copper. Engrailed edge. Proof-65 BN (PCGS). 28.0 mm. 146.1 grains. Uniform deep chocolate brown on both sides with pleasing prooflike reflectivity through the fields. Soft accents of pale blue are also noted. Struck from Vlack die pair 17-L, as the silver and brass pieces offered here. Provenance: From the Sydney F. Martin Collection. Earlier ex the Cherney Collection, December 2003.
