详细说明: 1921 Pilgrim Tercentenary. MS-67+ (PCGS). CAC. Pearly and brilliant at the centers with lovely golden-bronze toning near the borders. Frosted in a uniform satin texture and virtually untouched beneath a glass. This piece is among the finest survivors of this issue that we have ever handled. Just single coin ranks finer at PCGS, making this an irresistible offering for Registry Set participants. The 1921 Pilgrim half dollar is somewhat of an enigma, as 1921 represents the 301st anniversary of the landing of Pilgrims in what is now known as Plymouth, Massachusetts. In 1921 there were still thousands of 1920 Tercentenary half dollars undistributed. However, it was thought that collectors would provide a market for a new issue of small mintage, and they did. Even so, the vast majority of these coins are confined to lower Mint State grades of MS-64 and lower. In Superb Gem, as here, this issue remains a considerable challenge for advanced collectors.
