- 1928-D Buffalo Nickel. MS-66 (PCGS). Satin surfaces are adorned with lovely iridescent toning in reddish-apricot and pinkish-gold. Striking detail is impressively bold throughout the design, and a virtually pristine appearance to both sides adds further appeal. While the 1928-D nickel is the most available Mint State Buffalo nickel of the 1913 to 1930 era (apart from the very common 1913 Type I), this Denver Mint issue becomes rare at or above the MS-66 level.
